Twin Reverberations
In "Twin Reverberations", Shirish Kathale explores the rhythm of duality—two canvases echoing each other in form, spirit, and silence. Rooted in his signature layered abstraction, this diptych pulses with intuitive movement, guided by the flow of music and the organic textures of nature.
Each panel stands as an individual statement yet finds harmony in the other—like twin notes vibrating in unison, or mirrored thoughts in dialogue. The transitions between tone and texture evoke the interplay of presence and absence, tension and release. The work invites viewers to contemplate not just the space between, but the resonance that flows through both.
Intriguingly, the diptych is designed to be rotated—physically and perceptually. With each turn, the composition unfolds new narratives, new connections. What appears as grounding becomes flight; what feels like stillness starts to ripple. This rotational fluidity invites the viewer to reconsider meaning through movement, making every orientation an interpretation in itself.

IAF, 2022-23
"Elemental Echoes" is Shirish Kathale’s evocative exploration of nature's primal language—translated into abstract, layered compositions that breathe with rhythm and emotion. Drawing inspiration from the four classical elements—earth, water, fire, and air—each canvas reverberates with textures and tonalities that transcend the literal, capturing the essencerather than the image of the natural world.
Through his signature technique of oil layered with watercolor-like fluidity, Kathale allows the elements to converse, clash, and coalesce. The works don’t depict landscapes; they evoke them. Cracks like dried soil, waves of translucent blues, ember-like bursts, and wisps of wind appear as abstract impressions—echoes of something ancient and intuitive.
Infused with sound and guided by improvisation, this series is a visual symphony where form follows feeling, and each stroke becomes a trace of memory, movement, and moment.
In Elemental Echoes, the viewer is not shown the elements—they are invited to hear them, feel them, and respond in silence.
